Answer:

The armies of the North and the South

Step-by-step explanation:

The Civil war began in 1861 and lasted up to 1865. During the Civil War, both sides agreed to settle the matter of slavery through war. Despite agreeing both sides were somewhat weak and unprepared. The North was dependent on manufacturing industries that helped them produce war goods. The Union only had 16,000 trained soldiers. Most recruits didn't know how to fight and needed training.

The South had the military advantage because they fought for their land and had knowledge of the terrain (landscape) better than the North. The South had much more men trained as officers. The majority of the famous Generals and Commanders in America were from the Southern region including; Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, James Longstreet, Nathan Bedford Forrest, and others. The Southern officers (Confederate) known for their ambitious nature who followed the rules of honour and personal pride, which help them to fight together for the cause.

The South had a weak economy as they depended on agriculture and had no manufacturing industries. They also didn't have much transportation or a fleet of ships to blockaded and couldn't trade with European countries.
