Well, contrary to popular belief, if you don’t have a criminal record, you can walk right into customs and seek asylum and they’ll almost always grant you it if your record is clean. However, that is why most of the time, illegal immigrants come here illegally, because they have something on their record that would make them not able to come here through customs. So, personally I would check their record, if they have a criminal record in another country, I say send them back. However, if their record is clean and they have a job and are paying taxes, I would say let him stay, and put his through the process of being here legally and getting a card, however, he should still get a small punishment, because it’s not fair to the people who spent months or sometimes years to get here legally if we just accept every illegal, regardless of how and why they’re here, into the asylum process.
