Answer:

m = 2.25

b = 4.15

Explanation:

Let us consider the points (1, 6.4) & (3, 10.9)

Slope (m) = (10.9 - 6.4)/(3 - 1) = 4.5/2 = 2.25

Now, by point slope formula of a line, we have:

y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

\therefore y - 6.4 = 2.25(x - 1)

\therefore y - 6.4 = 2.25x - 2.25

\therefore y = 2.25x - 2.25+6.4

\therefore y = 2.25x + 4.15

Equating it with y = mx + b, we find:

m = 2.25

b = 4.15
