A cell phone provider offers a plan that costs $40 per month plus $0.10 per text message sent or received. A comparable plan costs $60 per month but offers unlimited text messaging. How many text messages would have to be sent or received in order for the plans to cost the same each month?

Answer:

200 messages

Explanation:

Let m = number of messages.

Plan A: 0.1m + 40

Plan B: 60

0.1m + 40 = 60

0.1m = 20

m = 20/0.1

m = 200

Answer: 200 messages

200 text messages in total sent or recieved (i think)

Explanation: ten text messages are $1.00. 100 text messages are $10.00. 100 x 2 is 200.
