-5x + 2y = 13
5x + y = -1

Can somehow walk me through the steps of how to get the answer for this? Im trying to find X and Y through elimination.

Answer:

Y = 4

X = - 1

Explanation:

$- 5x + 2y = 13 \\ + \\ 5x + y = - 1 \\ = \\ 3y = 12 \\ y = 4 \\ 5x + 4 = - 1 \\ 5x = - 5 \\ x = - 1$
