If you shift the quadratic parent function, f(x) = x2, right 12 units, what is the equation of the new function? O A. g(x) = (x - 12) B. g(x) = (x+ 12) O c. g(x) = x2 - 12 O D. g(x) = x2 +12

g(x)=(x-12)^(2)

The parent function shift right when subtracting x by 12; shift left when adding x by 12.
The parent function shift up when adding x^2 by 12; shift down when subtracting x^2 by 12.

It will be helpful if you know the vertex form:
y = a(x – h)^2 + k,
where (h, k) is the vertex.
Since shifting the parent function also shift its vertex.
