Volume of a hexagonal prism with a base side length of 2 inches and a height of 8 inches, the prism is regular. Also it would be a big help if you could calculate the lateral area and the total area. Thanks so much

Explanation:

base area of hexagonal prism =

6× ½×(2)(2)× sin 60° (regular prism)

= 12×½√3 = 6√3 sq. inches

Volume = base are x height

= 6√3 x 8 = 48√3 cu. inches

or 83.14 cu. inches

the lateral area = 6 × (2×8) = 96 sq. inches

total area = 2×(6√3) + 96

= (123 + 96) sq. inches

or 116.78 sq. inches
