Add the equations and y will be eliminated and we can find the value of x

(I) x + 3y = 1

(II) -3x -3y = - 15 {Now add}

-2x = - 14

x = -14/-2

x = 7

Plugin x =7 in equation (I)

7 + 3y = 1

3y = 1 - 7

3y = -6

y = -6/3

y = -2
