Police who were ordered to enforce integration at Central High School in Little Rock were not able to protect the African American students who tried to attend
• In 1957, African American students were prevented from enrolling at Central High School by the National Guard of Arkansas whom were being ordered by Governor Orval Faubus.
• President Eisenhower, then met Governor Faubus sand they discussed the situation at Little Rock.
• After the meeting, President Eisenhower had the belief that Faubus had changed and that African American students will be able to enroll in the school.
• The National Guard were then sent to the school and nine African American students came into the school for their enrollment and this led to a riot.
• Police who were ordered to enforce integration at Central High School in Little Rock "were not able to protect the African American students who tried to attend".
