Answer:

x = 4

y = -2

Explanation:

x + 10y = -16

-x -4y = 4 <-- ( multiplied x+4y=-4 with -1 so the x's cancel)

6y = -12

y = -2

put -2 back in the equation to get x

x + 10y = -16

x -20 = -16

x = 4
