A quadratic function usually has two solutions which come out by the following breakdown:

y= ax^2 + bx +c = (x-h)(x-k)

To make sure that there is only one solution, h and k must be equal to -12

y = (x--12)(x--12) = (x+12)(x+12) = (x + 12)^2

Hope that helps!
