Answer:

Here we have a weird Y intercept, no exact numbers.

So we have to find the equation of this line in the format of y=mx+b

Where
M is slope

B is y-intercept.

There are 2 ways to solve this, I’ll show you the most basic and school approved method.

The point slope formula

So point slope goes by
y-y1 = m (x - x1)

x1 and y1 represents as coordinate on the line.

M is slope

Let’s make x1 and y1 into (1,1) since its a point on the line.

Now we need to find slope.

The slope os calculated by doing
y2-y1 / x2- x1

So lets find another point.

Let’s make x2,y2 into (3,2)
So let’s find the slope.

2-1 / 3-1

1/2

Slope is 1/2
Now we plug everything into the equation.

y- 1 = 1/2 ( x- 1)

Now simplify and you should end up with the slope intercept form.

Y- 1 = 1/2x + 1/ 2
y= 1/2x + 1 1/2

Your answer is

Y= 1/2x + 1.5 or 1 1/2
