Volume of a pyramid

  • A pyramid is a three-dimensional figure with a polygon base and triangular lateral face.

There are two ways of finding the volume of a pyramid.

1.
\large\tt V =(lwh)/(3)

  • \tt V=(lwh)/(3)

  • \tt V=((4in)(2in)(5in))/(3)

  • \tt V=(40in)/(3)

  • \tt V={13.33^3}

Therefore, the volume of a pyramid is 13.33in³

2.
\large\tt V = (Bh)/(3)

Where
\longrightarrow\tt B = l * w

\longrightarrow\tt B = 4in * 2in

\longrightarrow\tt B = {8in^2}

  • \tt V = (Bh)/(3)

  • \tt V = (4in^2 * 5in)/(3)

  • \tt V = (40in)/(3)

  • \tt V = {13.33^3}

Therefore, the volume of a pyramid is 13.33in³
