Note that you can solve this by using the method PEMDAS.

Solve the parentheses first:

21 + 3 + ( 8 ) ——— if you look closely in the parentheses (8 - 2 + 2) you should see that (- 2 + 2) is the same thing as (2 - 2) so you would be left with 8 inside your parentheses.

Combine like terms (add all the values):

21 + 3 + 8
= 24 + 8
= 32

21 + 3 + ( 8 - 2 + 2 ) = 32

32 (if the "2" in the parenthesis is just 8 - 2 and not 8(-2)
