Explanation:

slope is rise/run or change in y/change in x

i pick out point (9,0) to (6,1)

the increase in y of this triangle is 1 and increase in x is 3

note that this line will have a negative slope as it goes downwards from left to right instead of upwards

hence m= rise/run= -1/3
