Axis of Symmetry: x = 2

Vertex: (2, 3)

Explanation:

find axis of symmetry: x = -b/2a

x = -8 ÷ 2(-2)

x = 2

find vertex by substituting 2 for 'x':

y = -2(2²) + 8(2) - 5

y = -8 + 16 - 5

y = 8 - 5

y = 3

Vertex: (2, 3)
