The elk population began to decline around 1995 once wolves were reintroduced. The beaver population started to increase between 2000 and 2001. Why do you think it took nearly 5 years for the beaver population to increase?

The elk population would lower the amount of beaver and since the elk population began to decline, yhe beaver population increased.

Answer:

The elk population impacted the beaver population because the elk population decreased, the willow population was able to rebound. The elk population dropped after the wolves were reintroduced, the beaver population didn't increase until the vegetation growth underway.
