Newton's second law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the applied force, and the motion is in the direction of the applied force. From this definition, it is therefore derived that force is the product of mass and acceleration; F = m × a

where: m = mass = 60kg

a = acceleration = 2 m/s²

∴ F = 60 × 2 = 120 N
