Answer: 2 ounce

Explanation:

Given

16 ounce of the box is shared by Sue and Bill

Sue has eaten
(5)/(8) of the box

Bill has eaten
(1)/(4) of the box

total cereal eaten by them is

\Rightarrow (5)/(8)+(1)/(4)=(5)/(8)+(2)/(8)\\\\\Rightarrow (7)/(8)

So, they have eaten this much of the box. Amount left in the box is

\Rightarrow 1-(7)/(8)\\\\\Rightarrow (1)/(8)

In ounce it is

\Rightarrow 16* (1)/(8)\\\\\Rightarrow 2\ \text{ounce}
