Explanation:

a) $11 = 3 lines of a classified ad

$x = 2 limes of a classified ad

cross multiply

3x = 22

divide by the coefficient of x

which is 3

3x/3 = 22/3

x = 7.33 approximately 7

x = 7.

b) $11 = 3 lines of a classified ad

$x = 5 lines of a classified ad

cross multiply

3x = 55

diviee by the coefficient of x

which is 3

3x/3 = 55/3

x =18.33 approximately 18

x =18.
