Answer:

The value of x is 28°

Explanation:

Here, In a given fugue, a = 40°

We know that, A straight angle is an angle equal to 180°

So,

a + 2x + 3x = 180°

40° + 5x = 180°

Subtract 40 from both side

40° - 40° + 5x = 180° - 40°

5x = 140°

Divide by 5 from both side

5x/5 = 140°/5

x = 28°

Thus, The value of x is 28°

FOR VERIFICATION ONLY:

a + 2x + 3x = 180°

40 + 2(28) + 3(28) = 180°

40° + 56° + 84° = 180°

180° = 180°

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S
