A grocer sold 45% of his stock of sugar and the quantity that he sold was 96 kg less than the quantity left how much sugar did he sell

Answer:

He sold 960 kg

Explanation:

Let the initial stock measure be x kg

So if he sold 45% ; what he sold was;

45/100 * x = 0.45x

So the quantity left would be;

x - 0.45x = 0.55x

So what was left is 96kg more than what was sold

Mathematically, we have this as;

0.55x - 0.45 x = 96

0.1x = 96

x = 96/0.1

x = 960 kg
