downstream. If the rate of the current is 6 kilometers per hour, find the rate of the boat in still water.

First we convert km to meters

6k = 6000m

Time = distance / rate.

20/6 = 3.33333333 = 3hr + ( 0.33 x 60 = 19.8) - 3.20hr

then 3.33 / 6 = 0.555 km = 555 meters p/h
