Data has shown this to be true. Workers tend to feel a loss of autonomy or freedom, mainly because many times their ideas/or decisions are overlooked or voted against by the group. When working in larger groups this tend to happen more often and usually leads an employee to feel as though their input isn't making difference. Productivity and Quality improve mainly because decisions are voted on and everyone hops onboard the idea and work towards the same goal. The best way to fix this problem would be to include individual and creative tasks for individuals so that they are able to better express their talents while also working on the group side of the project as well.
