Bentley conducted a scientific experiment. For a certain time l, the temperature of a compound rose 2 and 1/2 degrees for every 2/3 of an hour. What is the rate, in degrees per hour that the temperature of the compound rose.

In order to calculate the rate of rising of the temperature in degrees per hour, we will use the following formula:


Rate\ of\ Temperature\ Change = (Rise\ in\ Temperature)/(Time\ Taken\ for\ the\ Rise) \\\\

where,

Rise in temperature = 2 and 1/2 degree = 2.5 degrees

Time taken for the Rise = 2/3 of an hour = 0.667 h

Therefore,


Rate\ of\ Temperature\ Change = (2.5\ degrees)/(0.667\ h)\\

Rate of Temperature Change = 3.5 degrees per hour
