• ∆EDA ~ ∆ CBA .

And the corresponding sides of the similar triangles are Proportional . Therefore ,

⇒ ED/ CB = AD/AB

⇒ 11/2 = 3 + x / 3

⇒ 33 = 2(3+x)

⇒ 6 + 3x = 33

⇒3x = 33 - 6

⇒ 3x = 27

⇒ x = 27/3

⇒ x = 9

Hence the value of x is 9 .
