Okay so let's put T as TOTAL tickets

1800+1500+3T

To make it easier lets do this

3300+3T

total earnings is 5T+1300

So now the problem is this

3300+3T=5T+1300

Lets take away 1300 from both sides

3300-1300 = 2000

1300-1300 = 0

2000+3T=5T

Lets now take 3T from both sides

3T = 3T = 0

5T - 3T = 2T

now we have

2000=2T

Divide both sides by 2

1000=T

The team must sell 1000 tickets to break even
