How do stereotypes affect women?

Step-by-step explanation:

One example is women at work. When you hear the word "nurse" what first comes into your head? I would imagine, like many, a woman, which was culturally influenced by males. Now, when you hear doctor, you may think of a male dressed in white, with the nurse by his side. Very few think of the typical/ideal doctor as female, but that is changing.

Next, let's talk about home. When at home, in the 1900's and even today, women are made to stay at home, cook, clean, and of course, take care of children, while the males typically do the "fun stuff". In many old movies, women will call their husband/spouse, take off his jacket, and have a beautiful meal set out, while the male sits down, eats, and takes off to play with the children.

Finally, dressing. Wearing pants was considered "ghastly" or disrespectful. Even the first steps to transition into that took quite a long time, with disapproval from many. Corsets, pants, and short hair are some other examples.

But this is my opinion.

Hope this helps!
