Answer: x = 3, y = 6
Solution:
4x - 3y = -6
2x + y = 12
Rearrange the terms
4x - 3y = -6
y = 12 - 2x
Substitute
4x - 3(12 - 2x) = -6
Solve the equation
x = 3
Substitute
y = 12 - 2 x 3
Solve the equation
y = 6
Write the solution
x = 3
y = 6
