(5, 8, 17) whether the following triplets are Pythagorean or not?

Using the pythagorean theorem we have :


a^(2) + b^(2) = c^(2) (assuming a < b < c)

Replace the number, we have :


5^(2) + 8^(2) = 17^(2)

25 + 64 = 289 (not true)

So, this triplet is not available for the pythagorean.
