Explanation:

$\mathrm{Remove\:parentheses}:\quad \left(a\right)=a$

$=4\left(3.4+2\right)-(56)/(7)$

=21.6-8

$\mathrm{Subtract\:the\:numbers:}\:21.6-8=13.6$
