Replace the y value in [x = -y + 6] with "2x", because y = 2x.

x = -2x + 6

From there, we can solve the linear equation.

x = -2x + 6

add 2x to both sides

3x = 6

divide by 3

x = 2

From x, we can also figure out what y equals.

Replace the x value in [y = 2x] with "2", because x = 2.

y = 2*2

y = 4

x = 2 and y = 4
