1st number = 17

2nd number = 23

Explanation:

x = 1st number

y = 2nd number

x = y - 6

6x = 10 + 4y

substitution method:

6(y - 6) = 10 + 4y

6y - 36 = 10 + 4y

2y - 36 = 10

2y = 46

y = 23

find 'x':

x = 23 - 6

x = 17
