To answer your question one poor whites learned of the newly freed the black people as an answer about me stated they were scared and anxious. Which could be translate it out and spilled over into racism. Such as the idea that they’d take their jobs. Additionally however his history is shown education and poverty don’t quite go together and since most of these people run educated they have preconceive notion‘s about the newly freed peoples. Such as that they could only be fieldhands we’re never be seen as people because they were viewed as animals
