Let x be the width of the building.


\frac{\text{Length of the building}}{\text{Length of the model}}=\frac{\text{Width of the building}}{\text{Width of the model}}


(120)/(6)=(40)/(x)


20=(40)/(x)


x=(40)/(20)


x=2

Therefore, the width of the model is 2 feet.
