For the rest of the sectors, you would take to the remaining 50% and divide it by four for the four other sectors on the spinner. 50 ÷ 4 = 12.5 Then you would take the number of even numbers there are on the spinner, which is two in the case, and add those percentages together. 12.5 + 12.5 = 25

The expected number of even numbers is 100

From the spinner given ;

  • P(1) = 0.5

The probability of other values = 0.125

Even numbers on the spinner ; (2 , 4)

Probability of obtaining an even number on each spin = (0.125 + 0.125) = 0.25

For 400 spins ;

  • 0.25 × 400 =

Hence, the expected number of outcomes is 100
