Explanation:

The easiest way to calculate the area of the shape is to work out the area of the entire rectangle, then subtract the area of the 2 small (white) square:

Area of a rectangle = width x length

⇒ area = 10 x 15 = 150 m²

Area of one square = 3 x 3 = 9

Total area = 150 - 9 - 9 = 132 m²

Perimeter = (2 x 10) + 15 + (9 x 3) = 62 m
