Explanation:

since 14.3 is opposite of 90° it's can be assumed as hypotenuse (h)

and let's assume base(b)= X

then perpendicular (p)= 9

now

we know

by Pythagoras theorem

h^2=p^2+b^2

or, (14.3)^2 = 9^2+ x^2

or, 204.49 = 81+ x^2

or, 204.49-81= x^2

or, 123.49= x^2

or, √123.49= X

11.112 = X

hence, X = 123.112
