answer: martin subtracted 55 from 180 instead of 90. the correct measure of b is 35°

explanation: the square ag the bottom of angle b and angle 55 indicates that that measure is a right angle. right angles are equal to 90. so instead of subtracting 55 from 180 to find the measure of angle b, martin should’ve subtracted 55 from 90.

he started right: 180° - 55° = 125°

but he should have continued 125° = a + b; a = 90° (right angle) b = 125° - 90° = 35°
