Many laws were passed during the Civil Rights movement to promote racial equality. Explain how 1 law tried to enforce racial equality and then explain why change did not happen overnight.

A federal law enacted to enforce and protect basic personal rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution; prohibits discrimination based on race, color, age, or religion. That was the civil rights act it enforced racially equality. The civil rights movement did not change things overnight people didn’t like the idea it took hard work and a long fight to get what we have today.
