30 geckos
3/8

The total number in the ratio is 8. 80 / 8 = 10. So each in the ratio 1 is equal to 10 animals. There are 30 geckos, and 50 lizards. 30 out of 80 of the reptiles are geckos. Simply 30/80 to get 3/8.

Answer:

30 geckos

fraction:
(3)/(8)

Explanation:

Let the numbers of geckos be x, the numbers of anole lizards be y

x:y=3:5

5x=3y \left \{ {{a:b=cd}
ad=bc

x+y=80

3x+3y=80*3

3x+3y=240

3x+5x=240

8x=240

(8x)/(8)=(240)/(8)

x=30

(30)/(80)=(3)/(8)

I hope this helps you

:)
