The answer is 41.27cm because the area of the square is 9cm. Then to find the area of the circle you multiply pie times the radius squared which gives you 50.27 so you subtract the squares are from the 50.27 and it gives the shaded par of the circle which is 41.27cm.

Answer:

= 41.4 {cm}^(2)

Explanation:

First case:

Sides of a square = 3 cm

Therefore, area of the square = side × side

= 3cm × 3cm

= 9 {cm}^(2)

Second case:

Radius of the circle = 4cm

Therefore, area of the circle

= \pi {r}^(2)

= 3.15 * 4cm * 4cm

= 50.4 {cm}^(2)

Last case:

Area of the shaded region

= Area of the circle - Area of the square

= (50.4 - 9) {cm}^(2)

= 41.4 {cm}^(2) (ans)
