9x−17=3x+7 Solve for x
−7b−1=−5(b+3) Solve for b

x=4 b=-4/3

Explanation:

for b you simplify both sides of the equation, and then you get -7b - 1 = 5B + 15 then you subtract 5 from both sides which gets you to -12b - 1 = 15 then you divide both sides by negative 12 which would be negative 12 b - -12 = 16-12 which gives you the answer of -4/3.

for x you would subtract 3x from both sides which gets you to 6x - 17 = 7 and then you would add 17 to both sides which would give you 6X = 24 and then you would divide both sides by 6 which would give you x = 4
