Happy Paws charges $19.00 plus $5.50 per hour to keep a dog during the day. Woof Watchers charges $14.00 plus $6.75 per hour. Complete the equation and solve it to find for how many hours the total cost of the services is equal. Use the variable h to represent the number of hours.

It will take 4 hours!
x=hours

$19 fee + $5.50(x) = $14 fee + $6.75(x)
Take away 14 on both sides:
19-14 + 5.50= 5 + 5.50(x)
And
14-14 + 6.75(x) = 6.75(x)
Then:
Take away 5.50(x) from both sides which will leave you with 5=1.25x
Next:
Divide both sides by 1.25 and you will get h= 4

(I think it’s right but not fully sure, when I checked it got me both would cost $41 each)
