You can use the Pythagorean theorem to do this. a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
a=8 ft
b=unknown
c=10ft
Square 10, to get 10,000
Square 8 to get 64
Subtract 64 from both sides
Then square root both sides to get x by itself. X = 99.7 ft

If we assume that the angle created by horizontal distance and the height of the ramp is 90 degrees, we could use Pythagorean theorem c^2=a^2+b^2
c=10ft
b=8ft
a=? aka height
10^2=a^2+8^2
100=a^2+64
a^2=100-64
a^2=36
a= √36
a=6 ft
Height from the ground to the top of the ramp is 6ft.
