A cool wind blew down through the pines, and the trees swished secrets among them.

I know it's a personification

But what is the meaning of the phrase?

Answer:

The meaning of the phrase is just the wind blowing and the trees' branches are swaying along with it. Personification just 'animates' an object and makes it seem more human like. Sharing secrets is just an add on to the personification because it would be making a "swooshy" sound.
