Answer:

Slope is equal to 1.

Explanation:

(-7, -8) --> (x1, y1)

(-5, -6) --> (x2, y2)

slope \: = (y2 - y1 )/(x2 - x1) \\ slope \: = ( - 6 -( - 8) )/( - 5 - ( - 7)) \\ slope \: = ( - 6 + 8)/( - 5 + 7) \\ slope \: = (2)/(2) \\ slope = 1

Therefore the slope of the line is 1

y=x-1

When x=0, y = -1

When y=0, x = 1

delta y over delta x = 1/1 which means the slope is 1
