Add the two equations together to get:

4y = -4

Solve for y by dividing both sides by 4:

Y = -1

Now you have a value for y, solve for x in the first equation:

2x + 3(-1) = 7

2x -3 = 7

Add 3 to both sides:

2x = 10

Divide both sides by 2:

X = 5


Answer: x = 5 and y = -1
