A school held a special math event for parents. On the first night, 150 parents attended, which was 40% below the expected attendance. On the second night, 210 parents attended, exceeding the expected attendance by 40% . By what percent did the actual attendance at the special math event exceed or fall below the expected attendance for both nights?

Answer:

10.429% exceed

Explanation:

expected:

150x [100+40]/100=210 parents were expected on first night

210x60/100=126 parents expected on the second night

210+126=326 expected

percentage difference=

210+150=360

360/326 x 100=110,429%

110,429%-100%=10,429% exceed
