I need help learning how to find the nth term in sequences like 8,6,4,2?

i haven’t a clue how to solve things like this and i have a test tomorrow

Its actually simple once you get the basics

Find out the difference between the first two digits given e.g 8,6: the difference is 2 so you check if it's the same difference e.g 6,4: the difference is also 2 so you keep subtracting or adding 2 as the case may be.
